Anthony Spalvieri, speller 456, won't forget how to spell "rubeola" -- a word that means measles.

The Pennsylvania eighth grader in his second Bee misspelled, but not before hearing this sentence: Rubeola is an extremely contagious disease caused by a virus that thrives in the mucus of the throat and nasal passages.

Anthony is one of 121 spellers eliminated so far this round. Another 294 spellers have spelled correctly and have the chance to move on to the next round.
