Daichi finds insects fascinating and would love to go into entomology when he grows up. Because of his interest, he looks up to French entomologist Jean-Henri Fabre and would love to have met him. His first language is Japanese, but his father Yuji and teachers Maria and Rhodora help him practice his English as often as possible. He has won awards in speech and debate, as well as for his artwork. In his free time, Daichi listens to classic rock music, especially songs by John Lennon, and reads fantasy books like The Hobbit.
