We have some very exciting news — the Scripps National Spelling Bee is starting an official book club, and we want you to be a member!
We know that great readers make great spellers, and so we wanted to create a space where some of the best spellers in the world (and their friends and family members) could get together to talk about their favorite stories. Thus, the Bee’s Bookshelf was born.

Signing up means that you’ll get two emails from us every month: one at the end of each month announcing the next month’s book, and one on the 1st of each month featuring fun and exciting content about the book (including exclusive content from authors created just for our Bee’s Bookshelf members). We also encourage you to check out our webpage about the book club and join our official Goodreads group, if you're 13 or older (or sign up as a family), where you can post discussion questions and meet some of your fellow book club buddies.
The Bee’s Bookshelf will be kicking off on August 1st, and the first book we'll dive into together is Hook’s Revenge by Heidi Schulz. It’s a swash-buckling tale about the infamous Captain Hook’s daughter and it had us here at the Bee on the edge of our seats and laughing out loud from page one. Be sure to pick up a copy of Hook's Revenge before August 1st so you can start reading with us right away.
