Srivarun Hathwar, Speller 494, has some big shoes to fill.

The Virginia sixth grader has two older cousins who are Scripps National Spelling Bee champions.

Sriram Hathwar won in 2014, while Jairam took the top prize in 2016.

"Namaste, Dr. Bailly," Srivarun said as he approached the mic. "Will you give me EVERYthing you have?"

Dr. Bailly obliged and Srivarun spelled "charmeuse," a fine, semilustrous crepe fabric in satin weave, correctly.
