Carson Monks (Speller 149) was eliminated on "demegoric," but not before he had a chance to share his admiration of Dr. Bailly's work.
"That's a good one. Thay should renew your contract now," he said upon hearing the sentence:
"Rita admired her husband's demegoric skills, though she wished he didn't feel the need to deliver a toast to the waiter every time they dined together."
The Montague, New Jersey eighth grader tied for 51st place in 2012 and 43rd place last year.
