Rohan Sachdev, speller 27, was the first speller up in the Finals. He misspelled panniculitis, inflammation of the subcutaneous layer of abdominal fat, and is out.
Rohan, and eighth grader from North Carolina, was last here in 2015 - then, he tied for 39th place.
Last year, his brother Rahul bested him to make it to the Bee.
Rohan is also a tennis player, and wants to play professionally.
