Sounds the same

Rishik Gandhasri, speller 5, got the word "keriah." It has homonyms -- including "chorea," which Nicholas D'Sa, speller 101, spelled correctly three hours ago.

Keriah means the traditional Jewish act or ceremony of rending one's garment at the funeral of a near relative as a symbol of mourning.

Rishik, a California seventh grader, got it right. He tied for 25th place last year.
