Dev Jaiswal, speller 132, came on stage wearing a bowtie and immediately asked Dr. Bailly how he was doing.
"I'm great, how are you?" Dr. Bailly replied.
Dev, who was last here in 2012, next asked for an amusing sentence. Dr. Bailly had him covered -- in a sense.
"The crowd cheered Dev for his bravura?" he said.
Dev gave him a double thumbs up and a big grin before spelling "bravura" correctly.
