the true meaning of “champion”
Your organization can provide the path to inspiration and accomplishment for hundreds of bright, high-achieving students at the school and regional levels.
Our regional partners help students in their communities discover a knack for spelling and a passion for competition by providing a pathway from the classroom to the national stage. More than 175 newspapers, sports teams, organizations and universities make their regional programs all they can bee.
Become a Regional Partner
become a regional partner and give students in your community the chance to compete in the Bee!
The Bee program begins with 11 million students at schools across the country. Want to become a part of our mission of illuminating pathways to lifelong curiosity, celebrating academic achievement and enriching communities?
Regional Partners host Scripps National Spelling Bee-sanctioned Regional Spelling Bees for the participating schools and spellers in their community during February and March.
Your Regional Spelling Bee Champion advances to represent your organization and your community at the Scripps National Spelling Bee, broadcast on national television.
Regional Partners are welcome to attend the Scripps National Spelling Bee to cheer on their Regional Spelling Bee Champion during competition and experience the spectacular programming and activities that occur during Bee Week.
The Scripps National Spelling Bee provides national support to help recruit and communicate with schools in your community, encouraging participation in your Regional Spelling Bee program.
Regional Partners are supported year round by the Scripps National Spelling Bee's dedicated staff, a team that provides access to a plethora of resources. Regional Partners receive program guidance, official rules, word lists, customer service support and access to trainings to ensure their Regional Spelling Bee is successful.
This opportunity allows a Regional Partner to customize their Regional Spelling Bee program, create an event unique to their community, generate positive PR and provide memorable experiences for schools and spellers across their region.

our program cycle
The Scripps National Spelling Bee program begins each summer when organizations sign up to sponsor their community programs, and it follows the school year, from classroom and school spelling bees to regional spelling bees and the national competition.
purpose and passion
Each organization that partners with the Bee brings a passion for community, education and literacy. We asked a few Regional Partners at Bee Week 2023 what inspires them to provide this opportunity to their community's students.
