The Iowa eighth grader heard this sentence: "Fourth-grader Kallie considered her classmate's love overtures jejune and gently explained that she already had her eye on a fifth-grader who won the school spelling bee."
Unfortunately, Paula misspelled the word. At the end of this portion, 51 spellers have misspelled and are out, while 134 have spelled correctly and are still in the competition.
