Greek and Roman men are doing a number on some spellers.
"In ancient Rome, the law regarded women as subservient to men, which is precisely why ancient Rome went down in flames," read the sentence for "subservient." Speller 71, Benjamin Hollis, got it wrong.
"The patterns of settlement after marriage were mostly patrilocal among the ancient Greeks and Romans," read the sentence for Una VanWynsberghe, speller 77. She also misspelled her word, "patrilocal."
