Speller 13, Cooper Komatsu, is the first speller in the round and the first one to get his word right.
Cooper, a California eighth grader, spelled "glaucothoe" correctly. The next two spellers, speller 16 Snehaa Kumar and speller 20 Rutvik Gandhasri also spelled their words correctly and remain in the competition.
