Dr. Bailly isn't going anywhere. At least, that's what he told Sydney DeLapp, speller 160, a New York sixth grader.
"I promise you I will be at the millennial celebration of the National Spelling Bee, even if it means I have to haunt the Kindle ball pit," he said.
(The Kindle ball pit, filled with foam letters, is a speller favorite this year.)
Sydney misspelled her word, "millennial," and is out.
