Atman Balakrishnan, speller 153 and an Illinois sixth grader has big shoes to fill. His father, Balu Natarajan, is the 1985 Scripps National Spelling Bee champion.
So far for Atman, so good: he spelled "cantico" correctly, standing straight with his arms at his sides. It means a lively social gathering : a dancing party.
