On Thursday, May 26, the Finals will be broadcast live on ESPN2 from 10:00 a.m. to about 2:00 p.m. and the Finals (continued) will be broadcast live on ESPN from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m.

A speller qualifying for the 2016 Scripps National Spelling Bee (the Bee) must meet these requirements:
(1) The speller must not previously have been declared champion of the Bee.
