Rohan Raja, Speller 460 and a Texas sixth grader, is in his first Bee. He misspelled "loratadine," a long-acting, nonsedating antihistamine drug taken orally to relieve symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis and chronic hives.
Rohan's parents said the Bee has been an amazing experience -- it was worthwhile, Raja Adaikalasamy said, regardless of how far Rohan went.
Rohan is here through the RSVBee program after finishing fourth in his regional competition. He and the three other Dallas-area finishers who came to the Bee all were in the finals beginning this afternoon.
"It validates the program," said his mom, Priya Damodharan.
Rohan also plays ping-pong and soccer, as well as video games. He enjoys watching anime.
