We know a lot of you have been reading about Atman Balakrishnan, Speller 153, an Illinois sixth grader whose father. Balu Natarajan,was the 1985 champion.
Good news: Atman spelled "vitascope" correctly, and is still in the Bee. The word means an early motion-picture projector.
Atman ran back to his seat on stage, excited.
