Dhruv Hosamane, speller 148, may never have been a "hobbledehoy" -- that is, a usually awkward callow adolescent male or a gawky youth. But the Georgia seventh grader spelled the word correctly.

"I finally knew I was no longer a hobbledehoy once I became the official pronouncer for the Scripps National Spelling Bee."
