They used to be real bears

Rishi Damarla, speller 27, didn't sound very confident as he spelled "whimsical." But he got it right. The eighth grader from Ontario, Canada, heard the following sentence:

"Dad later claimed he was just trying to be whimsical when he told us that gummy bears are actually just real bears that lied to their parents once."

Whimsical means resulting from or determined by capricious or eccentric ideas or notions usually occurring suddenly or spontaneously.
