No omission

Sebastian Arias-Obando, speller 39, won't have to omit his spelling bee history from his tales. The California eighth grader spelled "omitted" correctly.

It means left out or left unmentioned, as in: "When talking about her life before she entered the convent, Sister Mary Teresa always quietly omitted the year she spent touring with the Oscar Meyer Weinermobile."
